In world mythology, the unicorn is one of the most mysterious creatures. It is pictured as a white, cloven-footed horse with a long horn. The unicorn is often pictured with a maiden, who is said to be the only person able to tame it. It is seen as a symbol of purity and resurrection of Christ.

The most famous horse in Greek mythology is Pegasus, who was born from Medusas blood after a union with Poseidon. Pegasus was the helper of Perseus and later became the riding-horse of Apollon.
